Is there any interest in fixing this?  What would you consider a fix,
removing the special case, or warning the user?  I would prefer the
first option.  I could send a diff for one of the two options once the
choice is made.

Hello

Is there any reason why aptitude (silently!) ignores package names
passed to the download command if they contain a tilde?

If not, removing this check would be nice.  If there is, adding an else
clause warning the user would be extremely nice!
