Initial Comment:
I installed Axel on Ubuntu (Hardy) and tried to download using
axel n X followed by the ftp URL. But all it did was Initializing download and then nothing happened. It came back to the prompt right away.

Could you please help me out - thanks!

Original sender, can you reproduce this behavior with a publicly available file and server? The URL could raise concerns about the legality of the content associated with it.

Some FTP sites doesn't allow download accelerators. Please check the README file.

and nothing after that.
