Looking at it some more, it's not that simple.

Trouble is, given two routes to the same destination, which do you
advertise to your neighbours?  Do you advertise the external or do you
advertise the Babel route?  (Both the metric and the loop-avoidance data
are very different in the two cases.)

Note that advertising both routes won't do, since in Babel a route
update overrides previous route updates for the same prefix (i.e. you
can switch routes without first retracting the previously-used route).
