I confirm the problem. Commit 1165 actually causes more troubles than it 
solves.

Additionaly, I'm not very found of using debian bts for discussing 
bash-completion issues. I'd really prefer to distinguish between the 
debian package and upstream code, as I have no clue about the potential 
differences.
