[Bash-completion-devel] Bug#547550: bash-completion is slow on apt-cache show

Package: bash-completion
Version: 1:1.0-3
Severity: wishlist

When completing a package name after
  apt-cache show
the completion is slow.
I found some improvement adding the option
  --no-generate
in the call to
  apt-cache pkgnames
in the file bash_completion.

Can this modification be safely made, and reported on the released package?
Thank you.
