from git commit 54d53c622. Doesn't happen on the stable version 2.1
on debian wheezy

output from autoconf:

configure.ac:3: error: possibly undefined macro: AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE                                                                                             
      If this token and others are legitimate, please use m4_pattern_allow.

Message:
Install automake. BTW use autoreconf instead of autoconf and all other needed tools individually, it'll also run them in the correct order.
