Speaking for myself, in no particular order: Alioth's dev facilities
pale in comparison to GitHub; GitHub has much more developer traction
and visibility and much better dev tools these days, and with David
being busy with other things, we had practically nobody who would have
been able to do various administrative tasks (releases, website
updates, etc) at Alioth.
