In the following I assume that the C++ code uses autotools and the
Python code uses distutils. If that is not the case, then please
describe what build systems are used.

It is currently not possible with plain cdbs to use different SRCDIR,
but is one of the things that I am working on at the moment implement.

I would very much like to use your case as a concrete challenge and test
for my current work - please send me either the package or a URL to it,
if ok with you (i.e. if your package is not for some reason a secret),
and I will try to make it work for you (and for the rest of the world).

Kind regards,

 - Jonas
