ETA is very soon. I was just waiting to fix this and a few other small
bits. I'll upload to unstable in a day or so, and once it's been
better tested for buildd use and we've made any needed point releases,
it can hopefully be used on the buildds.

If such a document existed, I would be very happy!

In sbuild.git, only sbuild itself is used on the buildds at the moment,
and that copy is on the buildd branch. Bugfixes are merged from master
to buildd as needed. However, I'd like to merge the whole of master
soon onto buildd so the buildds can get back in sync with what everyone
else is using.

The wanna-build and buildd packages in sbuild.git are not currently
ready for buildd use. wanna-build is pretty close, all it needs is
testing to verify there are no regressions from the buildd version
(plus a couple of recent commits need merging). buildd is a bit
further off, and needs quite a bit more testing. But they are both
getting near to release quality; they just need some careful
testing and minor bugfixing to bring them up to scratch. I'd like
to see them in use on the real buildds in the future at some point.
I just need some assistance to make sure they are doing what the
real buildd maintainers want them to do, as well as being usable by
end users as well.

For the "live" wanna-build that's on buildd.debian.org, the same patch
just needs applying to their git repo. The file name is different, but
it should just apply.

wanna-build.git has a number of ancillary scripts in use on buildd.d.o
which we don't have (they are very debian-specific). However, once
we have working PostgreSQL support (about 70% done for initial basic
implementation), most of those scripts would be redundant, since they
are basically working around fundamental deficiencies in the MLDBM
datastore currently in use.
