[Deb-scipy-devel] numpy and fftw?

Hi,

I noticed that the python-numpy and python-numpy-ext packages don't
depend on fftw. As far as I know, numpy can use fftw for its fft's.
Upon installation of the debian package, is there a check to see if
fftw is available or are the numpy packages built without fftw
dependency?
