After a little research, this should work:

<li>Translated ({{lang.language}}):  <input type="text" name="short"
value="{{trans.display_short}}" size="75"
onchange="document.forms[0].submit.disabled=0" spellcheck="true"
/></div></li>

The input tag stays, only add spellcheck="true"[1]. Note that I didn't test it.
