of graphs.<br><br><a href="http://ddtp.debian.net/" target="_blank">http://ddtp.debian.net/</a><br><br>These graphs are, um, a little weird, as the underlying data is just a<br>bunch of text files and due to various issues with the database over<br>the years they fluctuate a bit.<br><br>What I'm proposing is the replace the graph data with the tracking of<br>the creation time of a translation. With this information the graphs<br>could be created on the fly and we could make many more kinds of<br>graphs. In particular, the volume information needed to make the<br>graphs relating to milestones is making the debian-admins nervous.<br>Tracking the timestamp of translations would make this redundant as it<br>could be generated on the fly. So:<br><br>Pros:<br>- more kinds of graphs possible (progress per section, for example)<br>- less susceptible to temporary database problems<br>- takes less disk space<br>- seems like information we'd like to track
anyway<br><br>Cons:<br>- no longer immutable<br>- we don't have the info now so it has to be guessed. I only have<br>enough information to accurately estimate back to August 2006, so we'd<br>lose any graphs from before then. But looking at the graphs I don't<br>think I trust the current data before then anyway.<br>- not really auditable, but I don't think people really expected it to be.<br><br>Adding the information I don't think is controversial, I guess the<br>question is more whether we want to keep the old data.
