[Debian-med-packaging] Bug#591130: State of the embassy-* packages in Squeeze.

Dear release team,

the embassy-* packages in testing all have serious bugs because they do not
build from source anymore. The reason is that they are strongly tied to the
emboss package, which version is 6.1 in Squeeze and 6.3 in Sid, and the
embassy-* packages are for 6.2. There are updates available since July 21st,
and I am working on them.

To put the emboss and embassy packages in consistency in Squeeze, here are
possible solutions:

 - Remove the embassy-* packages from testing.
 - Upload emboss 6.2 to testing-proposed-updates.
 - Upgrade embassy-* packages with the latest upstream version, that builds
against emboss 6.3, and let emboss 6.3 in testing.

I would have a preference for upgrading all to 6.3, which support a file format
(SAM) that is gaining a lot of momentum in 2010. EMBOSS 6.3 is a stable version
released on July 15th. The next stable release is planned for July 15th, 2011
(or perhaps January 15th, 2011, this is a bit unclear to me).

Please let us know your preference, so that I an upload accordingly and send a
proper unblock request if needed.

Have a nice day,
