this is a matter of upstream to decide upon / clarify. My hunch is that
something like that will happen, "either way" (like Satellite-Lena
would say it). From what I understood, upstream is rather thankful
about that piece of foreign code since it in the past had
substituted their own attempt to implement such which just was
buggy at some hidden corner. So, things are possibly emotionally
loaded to some degree and I don't want to poke in there for the
very moment.

Time will solve this issue, and we will put all the reverse dependent
packages of Girish into contrib for the while being... which will
take some time to prepare, too.
