I have prepared a patch at:

As mentionned above this is a (partial) import from upstream git
commit: 563abcab25aeff7099de0712a8735c58d14602fb

I would appreciate if someone would double check this patch (1). Or
the other solution (2) is to use the embedded TIFF lib. Since ITK 3.x
is pretty much a branch dead-upstream, I think this would be easier to
have a lintian overrides...

Steve, what would you go with (1) or (2) ?
