I have updated Git to the latest upstream version and think the package
is ready for upload.

Olivier I accidentially mixed up your recent commits (forgot to git
pull).  I hope I did restored everything properly.  I noticed that the
samtools patch you provided does not apply to the latest upstream
version and I guess (wildly) that upstream has adapted to recent
samtools.  I'd be happy if you either check and confirm that everything
is correct or simply upload yourself.
