I have just finalized sugar-journal-activity, and with it another cdbs 
snippet to ease packaging of Sugar activities.  I recommend you Pull the 
Git of that package and use the debian subdir as template for other 
actitivies:

   git git://git.debian.org/git/collab-maint/sugar-journal-activity.git

Replace with git+ssh as needed for write access.  Or adjust that later - 
read debian/README.packaging and "git help config".

Here's a status on the core packages:

   * sugar-shell (or really python-cairo, I believe) segfaults 
     (bug#472103).  Workaround: use patched python-cairo from here:

       deb http://debian.jones.dk/ sid pycairo

   * python-olpc-datastore broken: indexing routines unsupported on
     Python < 2.5.  This means no storage currently :-(

   * python-hippostorage (and possibly others too) only available
     for default Python 2.4.  Not a problem in itself, but means we
     can't temporarily use Python 2.5 as workaround for the above.

   * python-journal-activity: Awaiting ftpmaster approval in NEW
     queue.
