python-gconf (source gnome-python) and python-rsvg (source
gnome-python-desktop) needs to be backported.

I thought I had it all covered :-(

  1) python-rsvg is unavailable, so python-gnome2-desktop is picked
  2) backported libmetacity-private0 virtually provides libmetacity0
  3) older python-gnome2-desktop depend versioned on libmetacity0
  4) only unversioned dependencies can be satisfied virtually

Don't subscribe to "sugar-src", only to "sugar".

Ah, ok.

Try install apt-transport-https.

I believe my archive needs signing, not the packages, to have APT not
complain about security. I want to do that, but it requires changes to
my handcoded release scripts which I haven't found time to do yet.
