Hi Xabi;

It works for me here. How did you install scilab?  There is a package
scilab-bin which needs to be installed, but it is a dependency of
scilab, so apt-get, synaptic, and aptitude should all have installed
it.

Maybe try 

      sudo aptitude reinstall scilab
