Thanks for the comment.  I was about to upload a new version of the
package because I regard the problem, which was actually caused by
blends-dev, as solved.  But yould you please be more verbose why you
think that

    blend-update-usermenus

is regenerating  /etc/blends/science/science.conf ?  This is not
the case but perhaps I might overlook something.

In case somebody is working on a BSP at this bug:  In case there this
was a false alarm the bug can be regarded as fixed and the package
will be uploaded next week (if not today).
