The current version of vtk-tcl for testing is 5.4.2-6 .
You are using an old version of this package. Is there a reason why you
stick with the old version 5.2.1-11?

Yes, that is one of the reason why I kept this bug report open.
The other thing I was thinking about is to change the name of vtk-tcl
according to the Debian Tcl/Tk policy [0] to tcl8.5-vtk .
