libalglib (aka alglib) in Debian

Hi all,

A user of my Rcpp package mentioned Alglib the other day, so I looked
at it (cf http://www.alglib.net). Seems promising and somewhat complete.  

Now, we do of course have it, thanks to six Debian releases of the same
source package 2.6.0.  That said, as one gathers from looking at the
announcement log at Alglib:

   http://www.alglib.net/arcnews.php 

that version was already outdated when Scott initially packaged it. Upstream
is now at 3.6.0 whereas we are still at 2.6.0.

Do we care?  Is anybody using this?
