Yes, but does it work if you do "import
Scientific.Functions.Derivatives", which is what is done in
"/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/FIAT/expansions.py"? I guess you
will get "ImportError: No module named
Scientific_numerics_package_id". In that case, installing
python-netcdf should fix the issue.

This is a bug in the python-scientific package, which should depend on
python-netcdf, as reported in #651502.
