Package: libslepc3.2
Version: 3.2-p5-1
Severity: wishlist
File: slepc

Dear Maintainer,
very recently upstream released a new version of slepc, introducing some
functionality that I sorely need (namely arbitrary selection of
eigenvectors). It looks like it depends also on a newer upstream version of
petsc than the one currently in sid.

Do you foresee to prepare updated (or new) debian packages with slepc 3.3
(and petsc 3.3) in a short time? Or are you delaying the release due to
debian freeze for impending "wheezy" release?

In case, could you please make available the new packages even without
uploading them to the official debian archive?

While I am no newbie to preparing some local debian packages for scientific
libraries I use, I would rather avoid it with slepc and petsc, which already
gave me some brand new gray hair and nightmares when I tried to compile them
from scratch on a scientific cluster, due to their completely nonstandard
configuration scripts...

Thanks in advance
Giacomo Mulas
