A simple patch was provided, so that it also works with xsltproc.

So it will work with Saxon, Xalan and xsltproc. Did I miss a
XSLT-processor? If not, I will write a simple proposal for now, that
handles paper.size from reading /etc/papersize into a variable
(evaluating the variable and setting the papersize). I think, this is a
good alternative for the moment and it will give us time to think about
a "better" solution, if any exists. Any other opinion?
