Dear Mark:

Voting is now open at OASIS for an important new XML standard designed to help
end-users and vendors concerned about application security. The voting period is
brief, so please take the time to review the materials and cast your vote TODAY.
Below is a brief description of the initiative and instructions on how to vote.

A key XML standard called Application Vulnerability Description Language(AVDL)
is currently being developed by the OASIS international standards consortium to
enable interoperability between application security products. AVDL defines
parameters and values needed for security products like application firewalls,
application vulnerability scanners, patch management systems and vulnerability
management consoles to communicate with one another throughout all stages of the
application lifecycle. Growing vendor adoption of AVDL gives security
professionals far more freedom and flexibility in managing application security
risk and securing critical resources.

In order to complete this standard which will benefit the entire application
development and security community, your help is needed. Voting is now open for
the AVDL standard but will close on Monday, May 31st at midnight EST (just 1
week away)! Please take a moment to visit OASIS and vote. To cast your ballot,
go to the voting group page at
http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/voting/ and select the link for
Open Ballots.

As founding members of this initiative, NetContinuum and SPI Dynamics greatly
appreciate your support of the AVDL standard in order to help address the
growing business problem of how companies manage ongoing application security
risk on a day-to-day basis. For more information on AVDL, please visit
