It's probably something to be done together with generating the pages
for packages.debian.org: you can talk with djpig or jvw proposing an
example RDF output.

I had a chat with a researcher called Attilio Fiandro about exporting
tags as RDF in a little conference some time ago, and we thought of two
ways: one is exporting just the tag (qualified with the facet name to
avoid confusion):

  pkg1 has facet::tag1
  pkg1 has facet::tag2
  [...]

The other is using facets as verbs:

  pkg1 has-interface commandline
  pkg1 has-role program

I must say that using facets as verbs is very attractive to me.

You blogged about how to represent the vocabulary in RDF. I'd like to
do that too, especially now that we have a basic tool to infer tag
relationships, it looks like we have all the bits and pieces to
autogenerate an ontology file that one could load into tools like
Protégé.

I have not investigated, however, how these formats (OWL?) work, nor if
all these tools can really do something useful for us that we are not
doing already.

Ciao,

Enrico
