hi all,

i read your proposal and i think it is needed in order to integrate
a number of packages that is going to increase for sure. this policy
could achieve a very nice goal for woody+1.

of course i think that this good integration should not leave out pspell
& aspell and all the related dictionaries. recall that pspell is one
of the most used interfaces to build-in support for spell checking,
think also at the gnome-spell component.

anyway i'm not for this game. for quite some time i've been thinking
about orphaning aspell et all, but i always tryed to at least fix a
couple of things, just not to leave a worse package than i found.

now i see the right people that can lovely care about it and the timing
is fine. policy can still modified and adjusted to care also about
aspell. it would be a big mistake for the aspell maintaner to not pay
attention to this movement.

i'm here asking if somebody is interested in the adoption of pspell,
pspell-ispell and aspell packages before giving them into the wild.
there is also aspell-pt, which should be already adopted, but the new
maintainer (after >1 month) still hasn't uploaded a new version. so i
think to be still in charge for it. i can provide cvs tree of all these
packages, even if i think that nothing very interesting is contained.

i'll always be available (i'm now subscribed to this ml) to help the
transition to the new maintainer. i'm not interested in continuing the
work of integration with the rest of the dictionary system.

yours
cavok
