I can't reproduce this.  Which version are you using?

That is the intended behaviour.

This indicates that the source format does not match the selected format
(which is normally set automatically based on the first source).  Most
likely the different sources have different audio formats (16-bit 48 kHz
vs 12-bit 32 kHz).  If you start DVswitch from a terminal you will see a
specific warning message.
