Thanks for the detailed explanation.

FTR, this bug report has been filed upstream as
https://github.com/berke/wipe/pull/2
and in Fedora as
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1019179

Iff there should be no reaction from upstream in the following
days/weeks then Till Maas is planning to take care for the Fedora
part (see URL above) and I'm planning to include the patch in the
Debian package.
