[Freedombox-discuss] 4th amendment (USA) equivalent in Europe?

The role of the 4th amendment (in the USA)[0] seems increasingly
important in the FreedomBox project as highlighted by this
article today in the New York Times on privacy [1].

Clearly FreedomBox has a global appeal.  As we are fast
approaching the FOSDEM conference [3] I'm wondering if people
know about any equivalents to the 4th amendment in European
jurisdictions?
