Matt, thanks for your interest!  I think a lot of your questions have
been discussed on the mailing list already, though I'd really appreciate
it if you could search through the list and post your answers to the
wiki.  It's obvious you're interested and have dedicated some time to
the project, would you mind working as a documentation wrangler for the
wiki?  You do a good job keeping written things organized.
