[Freedombox-discuss] CPU Memory Addressing (general cry for help!)

Hello.  I've wondered about the addressing capabilities of the 88F6281 for
some time and finally decided to look more into it's abilities.  According
to the Hardware sheet, the device (CPU) has 4 addressing registers that
specify the base address of a 4GB block of memory.  There are 4 of them and
they only will point to bases in the SD and  PCI address spaces.  I'm
referring to the "Section A.5, Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) Unit
Registers"

I'm interested to know if anyone has knowledge of how these are initialized
and or used in the Debian environment.   If code figures out the amount of
actual memory and sets them accordingly that would be wonderful, but
somehow I doubt that.  I'm not even sure where to look for that code
sequence that sets the CPU up.  I know Global has stated in an e-mail to me
that they have successfully used a 16GB SD card in their testing.

With the problem we have of Global not releasing a schematic of the
Dreamplug, I sure couldn't recommend them for any future product
development (including a 'recommended' platform for Freedom Box).  Some of
the problems we have now would be correct with a schematic, for some of us.

Anyone who knows anything along these lines, please let me know.
