I'm really glad that you did.
I regret if I came across as harsh, but I'm happy reading your response
.
I'm really pleased that you are able to respect where I'm coming from.
I'm also pleased that I better understand a position different than
mine.
Thanks for working with me. It would have been so easy to walk away
feeling that differences weren't welcome here and I'm happy that didn't
happen.

I agree with that.
One of the things I didn't respond to in your original reply was the
assertion that the rpi2 isn't sufficiently free.
I trust you on that having no specific knowledge.
My goal was to say that I value availability above threats of future
problems.
I don't care about freedom of hardware as much as some people here,
although I care a lot about being accurate in what freedoms we give
users. However I don't have an opinion about evaluating the current
freedom of rpi2 against other factors. So my message was assuming
things that are not true.

Jens> Hmm, sounds a bit harsh - but really it isn't meant like that

Actually, I'd like to come back to that. I wanted to say hey I'd like
to be able to think different things here very strongly.
Having done that, though, I wanted to thank you for helping me learn
about the availability of easily-obtained oshw devices.
I'm looking at the ongoing discussion and probably will make an oshw
purchase to see how easy it actually is. If it works well I would
prefer that.

Thanks a lot.
