Yes, the pre-built images are generally labeled according to the major
plinth version that they contain.  So "v0.9" images bundle plinth
0.9.<something>.

However, the images actually *are* maintained separately, contrary to
what the versioning scheme implies.  They're really just (slightly
modified) snapshots of Debian testing, and there are many plinth
releases that don't have corresponding image releases.  I believe that
future images will just be labeled according to build date so as to
better reflect this.
