Hi Gonéri,
Can you give me a short howto install it on windows? I have checked it
out in this way:
bzr branch lp:~goneri/fusioninventory-agent/2.0+windows
and

svn checkout http://libwin32.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/Win32-Daemon

I have installed activeperl
(http://www.activestate.com/activeperl/downloads/) and run:

I use Strawberry Perl here. I never tried yet to install the agent on Windows with the classic Makefile.PL. For now, I only grab the sources and run it with the --devlib flag directly from the source directory.

How the OCSWinAgent works? MHO is that the perl stuff is a little bit
oversized for a windows installation. Is it not possible to port the
ocsinventory-windows-agent? Or do you want to get away from the C-code?

This branch is still very experimental. Our goal is to keep just one unique agent for all the OS in order to speed up new feature inclusion and to be more reactive. As you know It's way more easy to provide a patch when the code is interpreted. I'm sure because of that we will get some new kind of contributions, for example, to detect the Anti virus software.

Yes, the installation size will be more important, but I think this will be acceptabe regarding the size of harddrive nowadays. We plan to strip all the useless part of the perl distribution to reduce the size (gcc, doc, etc).
