[Git-dpm-user] What happens when your patch is accepted and made a part of the new upstream?

One of the patches in debian/patches has been accepted
by the upstream and is not needed anymore, because all of
the changes are in the new upstream.

What is the official way of getting rid of the patch from
debian/patches?

Is there a way to get
git-dpm import-new-upstream  --rebase
to do an interactive rebase? That way one could
delete the whole patch in one fell swoop.
