There are multiple things which are addressed in the article. And the
article is very confusing (possibly, intentionally).

Could you please elaborate your own concern?

The article begins with the link:

... wrongly addressing STM32F205 as STM32F05.  I think that the DEFCON's
attack is not related to hardware, although it addresses hardware
attack(s).

And then, the article contines to another "hack".  It's not related to
hardware issues.
