<li>The original cost of the <em>license</em> (Gopher vs. HTTP ) think of (UNIX vs. LINUX).</li>
<li>Gopher is essentially an <em>infoserver</em> (i.e: can enumerate all available files.) based on the client ; web browsers (HTTP) are more visually oriented (advertisements).</li>
</ul>
