 Thank you for the quick solution.  I have applied the following patch and
logcheck appears to be running now.  Although, after about 6 hours, I have
this new message (which I am unsure is related, but thought I would
mention):

/usr/sbin/logcheck: line 1:  2766 Segmentation fault      rm -r $TMPDIR
