current logcheck cvs contains a test mode, which does not update
the offset '-t' and another one, where you can directly pass
choosen logfile '-l'.
for example:
# logcheck -t -l /var/log/amavis.log
(add the -o switch or the new -m switch as needed)
you might want to add the logcheck testing releases apt repository
to your sources file to test this nice idea:
# logcheck testing releases
deb http://debian.stro.at sarge/
