I'm not sure I get the rationale here... I'm not so familiar with the
diversions. Could you point me to reference docs ?

Anyway, this seems too bad... Maybe the logcheck rules shoudln't be dpkg
conffiles ?

Sorry in advance if this is a bit naïve.

I assumed my question was kinda FAQ about logcheck but I'm not so sure
now...

May I suggest to document some guidelines for Debian packagers
explaining some policy regarding such cases (i.e. where should the rules
be ;).
