attempting to compile minicom 2.3

I have been attempting to compile minicom 2.3 on a Ubuntu 9.04 system
but I get many errors including one pointing to a missing termcap.h
file.

I wanted to attempt to make one small change in the program but I'm
afraid that I'm not experienced enough in C programming to figure
out the errors when running 'make'.

Maybe I should just give up and unsubscribe from this mail list
but if there is someone that is willing to help me, I might
continue to try to get the program to compile.
