dhclient-script, hooks, and changing the environment

There is not much packages which use hooks anyway:

ntp: /etc/dhcp3/dhclient-enter-hooks.d/ntp
samba-common: /etc/dhcp3/dhclient-enter-hooks.d
samba-common: /etc/dhcp3/dhclient-enter-hooks.d/samba
dhcp3-client: /etc/dhcp3/dhclient-exit-hooks.d
dhcp3-client: /etc/dhcp3/dhclient-exit-hooks.d/rfc3442-classless-routes
dhcp3-client: /etc/dhcp3/dhclient-exit-hooks.d/debug
dhcp3-client: /etc/dhcp3/dhclient-enter-hooks.d
dhcp3-client: /etc/dhcp3/dhclient-enter-hooks.d/debug
resolvconf: /etc/dhcp3/dhclient-enter-hooks.d
resolvconf: /etc/dhcp3/dhclient-enter-hooks.d/resolvconf

and I'm not sure either of them changes the environment.
Maybe upstream will know a bit more?
