That won't work reliably. The devices are enumerated by the kernel, so
they get different device numbers when they reconnect (which depending on
your environement, may happen as often as once every half hour or more).

That won't work either, because you still won't know which device is
which. The only difference will be the physical port they are connected to
and at present, we have no way of getting to that.
