Most likely this is caused by the driver failing to start, so you should try if running the driver in debug mode returns a more useful error:<br>

/path/to/liebertgxt2 -u root -DD -a liebertgxt2<br>

Besides posting of the above, also post the output of 'lsusb' and the kernel version you're using. Note that there are a fair number of crappy USB to serial implementations. I have good results with PL-2303 based solutions, so this is generally what I recommend to use.<br>

Note that if you just complain that something doesn't work (without providing debug or even error messages) chances are slim that anybody is able (let alone willing) to help (I usually ignore them).<br>
