[parted-devel] Parted script mode doesn't work

 Hi,

I am sorry if this is the wrong list, but I couldn't find a user list for parted. The thing is, parted -s doesn't seem to work for 'mklabel msdos'. Parted simply exits with a exit value of 1. I need to run this, because parted seem to keep the device open if you do any operation on it, and I am not able to remove it using lvremove, once I run parted on it.

  parted /dev/VolGroup00/test unit s mkpart 63 6666

After this, if I try to remove the lvm using lvremove, I see that it is kept open, and lvremove will refuse to delete it. I have to run mklabel msdos to clear this open descriptor, but I can't run mklabel because it doesn't run in script mode.

Is there some solution for this?

  Thanks.
