[Parted-maintainers] Bug#443272: Possible workaround (was: Partition not detected on a ST3500630AS Seagate 500 Go drive)

Dear parted maintainers,

I finally re-tried to install Debian on this computer, with the two
following differences:

 - After first re-installing OS X, I did not install the updates from
   Apple.
 - I created two 50 Go partitions at the beginning of the drive instead
   of a very big one for Linux and a small one for OS X at the end of
   the drive.

Either one or the other change was useful: D-I managed to detect the
OS X partitions, and I could install Debian.

Since it is a computer at work, I will not be able to do further tests
with it.
