Package: perl
Version: 5.12.4-4
Severity: important
Forwarded: https://rt.perl.org/rt3/Public/Bug/Display.html?id=97010
Tags: fixed-upstream

As reported upstream by Marc Lehmann:

 perl -e 'use Carp; Carp::shortmess while 1'

leaks memory.

Fixed upstream with

 http://perl5.git.perl.org/perl.git/commit/af80dd8

This seems to be a regression from squeeze (introduced in 5.12.2 and
5.14.0), so we should probably backport the fix.
