I don't see this as a desirable change. Neither description actually
tells you much about perl on its own, but I'd even go so far as to
speculate that more people know the name of the author than that
particular acronym expansion, so it's clearly relevant information.
I don't think that including the name of the author is "fan club" or
cultish.
